Oasis

Find the value beneath the sand.

Oasis helps explorers find minerals in Nigeria, starting with lithium. It combines satellite imagery, magnetic surveys and drilling records, learns from known lithium deposits, and produces maps of where to explore next, with a confidence level on every prediction.

Valuable ground, very little evidence

Nigeria holds valuable minerals, especially lithium, but modern exploration is limited. Most mining is small-scale and informal, and geological data is scattered, outdated or locked in agency archives.

Explorers spend heavily deciding where to look and where to drill. Oasis makes those decisions faster, cheaper and backed by evidence.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Ingest

Satellite imagery, magnetic surveys and historical drilling records are cleaned and lined up on one map.

  2. Step 2

    Learn

Models study the places where lithium has already been found and learn what that ground looks like.

  3. Step 3

    Predict

Oasis scores every part of a licence area and shows how confident it is in each score.

Who it's for

  • Exploration companies

Where to explore within a licence and where to drill, including teams funded through EMERGE grants.

  • Mining companies

Better estimates of how much ore is in the ground.

  • Government agencies

Digitising legacy geological records and detecting mining outside licensed areas.

  • Processors and traders

Rapid checks of ore quality when a shipment arrives.

Roadmap

Oasis grows in five stages, from finding targets to planning the drill programme. Each stage builds on the data and models of the one before.

  1. 1

    Prospectivity mapping

    In development

Heat maps of where lithium is likely, with a confidence level on every area.

  2. 2

    Mining activity monitoring

    Coming soon

Satellite images compared month by month to flag new mining, especially outside licence boundaries.

  3. 3

    Digital core logging

    Coming soon

Identifying minerals in rock samples from phone photos and a handheld XRF scanner, instead of expensive lab scanners.

  4. 4

    Grade estimation

    Coming soon

Predicting ore quality underground from drilling results, with error ranges.

  5. 5

    Drill planning

    Coming soon

Recommending the next hole that tells you the most for the least money.
